Let me skip the work part of today, as there was nothing happening that I would like to remember, really. Instead I want to quickly tell you about my afternoon. Right after work I rushed home, did some snow duty around here (the stairs were a bit slippery from ice, so I put on some sand and other stuff in order to achieve some more sense of safety) and rushed back to another part of the town. The reason being that today is the birthday of a dear friend of mine.

We met up with a group of our / her friends at a tiny local italian restaurant. Had a lovely dinner, delicious red wine and some appetizers. Later on the birthday gal plus company moved locations to the appartment of the birthday gal. Spend another lovely couple hours there in the presense of good friends, awesome beverages, great talks etc. Just returned home and realized, that I'll be leaving for the parents and family tomorrow after work. So it's unlikely I'll get around to anything here on LJ. Which means, it's time to say goodbye for the next couple days:

P.S. Thanks a lot for the lovely Xmas wishes, my dear apple4b, am very curious about that gift... it will have to wait until Xmas to find out what it is. Be assured, you're in my heart on Christmas day. :)

Quick poll: I am on snow duty today. Upon waking up I realize it's not snowing, it's raining and +4°C outside. My fellow snow duty people that have gone before me have not really done their job. So I could still remove some snow. On the other hand I wanna be at the office as early as possible (in order to get off work as soon as possible). To shuffle snow or not to shuffle snow, that might be the question.

Realized I had not posted a random image of the day today. I guess the sad news about Brittany Murphy have kept me from that. I still can't quite fathom it. Just recently I had seen her again in my all time favourite "Loev and other disasters". So wonderful, so talented. *sigh* I miss her already.

Then I sat down at the computer and suddenly realized what song I was listening to:

Greetings go out to blavandgirl, tinaskywalker, bunnysworld & bondgirl2002 for the lovely Christmas wishes. So sweet of you to think of this ol' bloke. :)

I needed a bit of cheering up after hearing the sad news about Brittany Murphy. So I youtubed for a bit (if that's even a word) and came up with this really funny video that I shared with you by this time last year. Thankfully it's still available on YouTube, so I get to share it with you again. Why? You ask? Well, because it's the most hilarious video you can imagine. I've never seen anything like it before or since. That's why.

With a currently very heavy snowfall going on outside I decided to have a lazy afternoon with hot chocolate, some left over cake and a good movie.

Wonder what you can do with cold weather like the one currently holding court in Europe? Well, yours truly did the first thing that came to his mind: de-icing my freezer.

It worked perfectly. The good were out on the rooftop terrace in the snow while the freezer was made shiny and perfect. Yay.

Via stina_x comes this really great but fake movie trailer. And I'm clearly recommending you to watch it. :)

... my true hero ever since "Brokeback Mountain"... just saying. Anyway, Jake graced us with a new appearance on a show, that has celebrated it's 40th season on the air recently. And in order to celebrate the special day, here's said appearance for you to enjoy.

Most likely you'll have already seen this or at least heard about it. But I thought it's too cute not to be shared here. The little kid doesn't know the actual lyrics but he sure knows how to handle a ukulele. :) Enjoy.

Had a long hot bath after coming inside from a day spend out mostly in the cold. Naturally I was too tired after that, so I fell asleep on the couch while watching telly. I guess it must have been a very boring tv show.

Anyway. Now I'm wide awake which isn't so good either. But I make the best of it by watching the snow fall evenly outside and posting a random image for your online. ;)

Before I forget: today I got a lovely surprise Christmas postcard from my dear bondgirl2002. What a lovely surprise, thank you so much my dear. Now I only wished I could have you back online here on LJ as well. *hug*

I overslept, thank goodness I have the day off and am "only" supposed to meet a friend of mine in about 20 minutes to help him move. So let me just send a quick sms and I'm on the way. Last night I discovered a certain package from Portland, USA in my mailbox. Yay. The CD arrived as safe and beautiful as described in that wonderful message I posted the other day.

Just returned home from a lovely day spend in Cologne. I was shopping (and paid way too much money on clothes ... but the suit I bought was really awesome) and had delicious snacks while being there. Not only that! I also took time out of my schedule in order to take more images from the Cologne skyline, as the day was especially beautiful in order to take images. Plus I met up with my dear friend textsalat. We hadn't seen each other in a couple weeks, so it was nice to catch up on life, love and other subjects. Plus we went to see a movie in original language. Would you believe it? We both ended up liking the movie very much.

Oh, I can see your faces, you're curious to know what movie we ended up seeing. Well, I'm not someone to hold back that kind of information, so here we go: We saw "(500) days of Summer" starring my darling Joseph Gordon-Levitt, (new to me, but very good actress) Zooey Deschanel and Matthew Gray Gubler. I truly enjoyed that movie a lot and highly recommend it to you. Although I fear I'm much to late for that, since it's most likely that the movie has already been released in your area. Anyway, if you have a chance, check it out.

Oh what a joy to have a day off from work. Am on my way into town and later on I might be heading over to Cologne for a spontaneous meeting with an old friend of mine. That depends if I ever get a hold of her this morning, I guess. Anyway... am off now. Will stop by soon again.

For those of you who have enjoyed a song by P!nk here and there, but never went to a concert of hers before: take note.

My history with Pink or P!nk has been one full of surprises. And tonight or last night was not different in that. It all started out with "Moulin Rouge" or the song "Lady Marmalada" to be exact. And with "Family Portrait" and ever since I've been amazed by that lady.

Tonight my admiration skyrocketed once again. She's not only a great singer / Performer. No no. Her Stage show is full of very difficult acrobatic acts that she herself participates in. Seeminly without any protection (at least hai_di and I didn't spot any) during some of the elements. I was very happy that she performed not only the current songs but some of my favourites as well. "Family Portrait" and "Dear Mr President" among them. Her acoustic set was simply breathtaking. *sigh*

One of the most funniest moments in the show was unscripted. Pink saw someone getting sick and escorted out of the arena, so she bade her farewell. Only to see the next person in need of medical attention. Which was when she remarked "Another one bites the dust". And followed that up with something along the line of "Someone else about to faint? Or shall I start singing now?". Well, it sounded funnier during the show.

Anyway, amazing concert, amazing performer, if you like her songs... go see her live.

Truly amazing, the kid is not only not bad on the eyes, he's also a comedy talent. And he loves Samwise Gamgee (at least in clip 3)!! Check it out:
